Preschool

Kenna is LOVING preschool. She runs right up to the door everyday, waving "Bye mom!" She doesn't even look back as she runs into the front door. Yesterday we got to run errands together all afternoon after I picked her up and we had quite the coversation about school.

Me: what did you do today
Kenna: oh, I probably can't remember
Me: well, what work did you learn about today (In Montessouri they are tasked with "work" throughout the day
Kenna: OH! Today we learned about screws, and locks and keys. I worked with the magnet pen. It was not a new work today, it was something that I learned about last week, so I am really good at it.
Me: did you eat all your lunch?
Kenna: well, mostly. I didnt mostly like the apple crunch things. Remember mom, we went to the pool and I tried them there, and I didn't like them. So I threw them away. But my turkey wrap was good and I saved the ducky toothpicks, they're in my bag.
Me: what else did you do?
Kenna: well, I mostly played with Allison, cause she has the prettiest shirts. It was really soft, not like furry, but like a blankey.

Apparently to be "in" with McKenna, we must wear soft and pretty shirts...too cute :)

Adventureland

On Saturday we went to Adventureland with Andersens. I was pleasantly surprised! It is not quite six flags quality, but you could literally spend an entire day there and not do everything! They also have a HUGE waterpark that is attached. It was only about 75 degrees, so we opted out of that, but were there all afternoon.

We took turns taking the big kids on the bigger rides and watching babies. There were a few that they could all do though!

--Zachey was NOT in a good mood..we recently ditched the AM nap and he is grumpy sometimes, but Kenna did a great job of watching her little brother--

--this isn't my family, but gives you an idea of the log ride the daddies and big girls went on!--

--Lucy and Zachey rode this while the big girls rode the log ride, he's already got his arm around her..oh oh!--

--they loved the buttons--

--Chloe and Kenna after Chloe changed - she got soaked on the log ride!--

--going on the frogger ride--

--they went twice they liked it so much!--

--the video end abruptly as I realize Zachey is running away ;) --
--this balloon ride was really cute--

--thanks chad for taking them!--

--I think we may make this an annual event! LOTS to do!--
--Josh and I rode the dragon before we left--

Fun day, and a good practice run for Disneyworld next week! Kenna is gonna do great!

Zachey's First Haircut

It was a sad day for me. We had to cut Zachey's curls off. He has a few at the base of his skull and they were so cute...but it was starting to resemble a mullet, and it was time. We went to a little place near our house and got both Kenna's and Zachey's hair cut. Zachey is in a "I dont ever want to sit still, even for a minute" phase. He was having nothing of it. So the hairdresser whipped out a sucker...brilliant! It bought us about 2 minutes, and that was it. Then he wanted down again. But, it was long enough to get it trimmed, which is all we really needed!

While Kenna got her hair cut, he proceeded to move all the shampoo bottles off the wall display, and put them back...numerous times....oh he is so busy!

--sucker was the answer!--

--he did NOT like the haircut...but we made it through--

McKenna's First Day of School

Today was Kenna's first full day of school! She has been talking about nothing else for the last week. She is loving being a big girl! We bought her a new lunchbox online, and when April and I were shopping we picked out this cute outfit for the first day of school :)

--giving Zachey hugs goodbye - he's not terrified, that is just his normal look--

--showing off her big girl outfit--

--she made sure that baby was tucked in before she left--

--Zachey wearing an outfit my mom got him, very cute, a little big, but he can probably wear it next year too!--

--kenna was so proud that she helped pack her lunch that she made me take a picture--

--here she is at drop off, in front of the school--

She ran right in after a hug, I left balling my eyes out that my little girl is all grown up :( She really is 4 going on 25...but I am lucky compared to some parents whose kids were screaming and not leaving their leg!

Kenna Starts Soccer

Tuesday was Kenna's first soccer practice. She met her coach, Coach Kristy, and her team. They decided to call themselves "Girl Power :)"

She was in love with her red ball and red cleats...how did I get a little soccer diva? She had no apprehensions about running right up to the group and getting right into it! Josh and I played with Zachey on the nearby playground at Sawgrass Park.

She did so well! I couldn't take enough pictures because she looked so stinkin cute!

--nothing more adorable than girls in shinguards and cleats!--

--Zachey was content going down the slide and drinking his water--

Meet the Teacher

On Monday, Kenna and I went to visit her classroom and meet Ms. Betsy. She started her Montessori curriculum this week, and is SOOO excited. She walked right in, put her supplies away and looked at all of the cool classroom "stuff." There is a tiny bathroom, with small potty and sink. A HUGE play area, complete with boat, sandbox, swingset, woods to explore in and a small pond that they can wear their mandatory wader boots in. She found her hook and took off her shoes.

Soon after we got there Chloe arrived as well! She will be going MWF and Kenna will be there TTh. But they will still go to the same parties and it will be good for Kenna to meet lots of other interesting people!

Swimming!

This weekend we had the Gentrys over for dinner. We just ordered sub sandwiches, but was nice to have the kids swim and just relax as the summer is winding down!

No our children are not vampires..they are just covered in sunscreen and finished eating their multicolored popsicles :)
