Snowball fight!

Although the snow has all melted now - here was Kenna's first snowball fight a few weekends ago. Thanks Baca for all the fun, and Gona for taping it :)

Funny bath moments

Sometimes Kenna gets creative in the bathtub. She decided that one of her feet was named Kenna and the other one was named Cole (her friend from daycare.) Together they were walking all around the tub:

Andersen's

On Sunday we went to Mace's in the morning for a quick visit. After visiting Perry we came home so Kenna (and Mommy) could take a nap! Then, that evening, we went to Andersen's for enchiladas and chocolate cake. The girls had fun playing and building towers while we chatted and both girls did a good job of at least trying their food. Of course there was no problem eating ice cream afterwards!

They also had fun playing in Chloe's fort and taking a bubble bath together. We joked saying we would show these at their high school graduation :) Trying to enjoy these "quiet" times before we are both thrown into the new baby groove again soon!

--cheers to ice cream!--

--little bums are so cute!--

--I think they would still be in here if we didn't make them get out!--

Just funny

These are more just to post the pictures than anything earth shattering. Every morning Josh and I usually read a magazine, or the paper with breakfast. Lately, Kenna has wanted in on the action and found an add for Dora books. So, as she eats she looks over all the books she wants to buy!

Also - we have reached a major milestone....Kenna can wear a half ponytail. That's right, no more hair in her eyes, woohoo! The first day we tried it was quite dramatic. But after I got a squirt bottle, and let her squirt my hair after hers, that was pretty cool. The final touch worked when I did my hair in a ponytail on top of my head and we bounce our heads back and forth saying "Boing Dong, Boing Dong." The only downfall is that I now have to wear my hair in a super high ponytail every day before Kenna will.....small price to pay for an agreeable toddler with hair out of her face!

-note the ponytail...such a big girl!--

Fun with Gona and Baca

A few weekends ago Kenna had a great time at Gona and Baca's! Baca and Kenna played in the snow and made snowmen:

Gona also wrote down all of her adventures and some are really funny!
  • Held her baby in the chair rocking and twirling her
  • When Gona forgot to shake the orange juice, it was kind of pulpy. Kenna told her "this orange juice is bumpy!"
  • She gave her doll a time out. After sitting for a while she went back to her and made the doll apologize then gave her a hug (guess some of what we are doing is working :)
  • When they were playing puppets Kenna is the horse and Gona is the giraffe and they always stomp on the lion puppet. At one point the two puppet's tongues touched and apparently that was hilarious :)
  • On the drive home Kenna was putting her feet up on the seat then taking them down. She told Gona "I'm excersising!" Gona said that Kenna was funny. Then she said "no it not funny, it good!"
  • She made her baby soar through the air and said "my baby flying!" Then she dropped her and said "Ow! my baby bonked her head"
  • She was wearing her stiped shirt and she told Gona "this is the shirt gramma rue got me"
Ah toddler brains, how funny! Thanks Gona and Baca for such a fun weekend!

Dinner party

Last night Joshua and Kendall came over for dinner. Josh works with Joshua, and we have been trying to find a date to get together for a while. It was fun meeting new people! I made stew, salad and pots de creme, and they brought some really yummy bread. The conversation just flowed and we had a great time! Josh taught them settlers, so now we have another couple friend that can play :)

Kenna got to stay at Gona and Baca's last night. After we hung out with Kevin in the morning I drove her to Cambridge for a nap. Sounds like they had a lot of fun as always! I even got to sleep in until 7:30....what an amazing gift!!!

On a side note only 50 more days left of pregnancy....getting close :)

Kevin and Kenna do recess

That's right, Recess twice in one week! Andrea (Kevin's mom) wanted to do something while her husband Nathan was out of town. We love the stone's so of course we were amped to go do something with them on Saturday! Kevin got his first taste of recess. Kenna had a good time showing him the ropes, and I was surprised at how fearless he was! I remember taking Kenna there at his age and she was very timid. Kevin attacked things full steam! He definitely had no problem keeping up :)

I loved watching them dance in the disco room, and they had so much fun jumping on the trampoline, going down slides, and riding the trains and airplanes! After we played for a few hours we went to Palmer's for lunch. I can't believe how grown up Kevin is for his age! He can speak very well and is starting to learn his alphabet! Was fun getting caught up with Andrea. Hope we can do it again really soon!

--riding the airplanes--

--playing basketball, well sort of--

--knocking each other over on the trampoline--

--riding the train, this was Kevin's favorite I think!--

--I think Kenna had a great time!--

Recess with Chloe

On Tuesday this week I started to REALLY enjoy my part time schedule again :) We went to recess with Chloe and Tara, then out to dinner afterwards. I have blogged about Recess before, but it is just a really fun place with inflatable toys and lots of indoor slides and fun! The girls had a blast and got all worn out. With Iowa winters these kind of places are necessary for our sanity!

--the girls had fun learning how to play air hockey--

--chloe won, but I think it was because her goal was bent and nothing could get in :) --

--riding the merry go round--

--shooting hoops in the bouncy room--

After recess we met chad at palmers for dinner. Josh was still at work, but was fun as always. So cute to see how similar and different the girls are! They sure had a good time!

Heather Christmas

Yes, I know that I am just now updating Christmas blogs, but in my defense we had the daycare Christmas in late January this year. It seems that we could not all find a date that worked for everyone!

This year we went to Wyatt's house to have the party. They have converted their garage into a rec room, so we had pizza, played Wii, and jumped in the bouncy house all night! I had a good time catching up with all the daycare moms, and Josh dominated on the Wii....granted he was playing 6-8 year olds...but still :)

Wyatt, Cole, Nick, Jeana, Isabelle, and Heather's kids Tyler and Taylor came. Some also brought their siblings...so it was definately a full house! After pizza and home made ice cream the kids got to open their gifts. We got Heather a gift certificate to Fuji Steakhouse and she got Kenna a cool radio with a microphone...because she LOVES to sing :)

--her best buddy Cole at daycare. He is 4 and so cool! Teaches her all about guns....thanks Cole :)--

--getting some pizza with Nick (who she calls Nikki)--

--bouncy house was a huge hit!--
