Lifestyle Changes

I have been gone for almost a week for work. Had a meeting in Saint Louis, with less than stellar travel agenda. I got home after midnight on Thursday. I spent Friday catching up and finishing my group project for class next week. Yesterday Kenna and I planted the garden. Josh built some industrial strength tomato support structures - excited to see how they work this year! We also planted bell peppers, jalapenos, basil, carrots, peas, green beans, cherry tomatoes, strawberries, pumpkins, cucumbers and zucchini. Can't wait for this fall!

Also - been learning a lot more about grass-fed vs corn-fed poultry and beef. Also been educating myself about hormones and pesticides and what some of the studies say it is doing to our bodies. I highly suggest that anyone reading this watch Food Inc. (just to get one perspective.) I can appreciate what some are doing to educate us. Shows like Jamie Olivers Food Revolution have really opened my eyes. Through my research I stumbled upon this website http://www.localharvest.org/. Here you can buy local produce, poultry, eggs, beef, anything you can think of. If nothing else we are decreasing our carbon footprint because the vendors do not have to package or ship the items when we buy local.

Now its just a matter of finding enough freezer space to store all these goodies!
