Roadtrip Part 2

I let the kids take some pictures of the roadtrip. Below are the results of that :)

We arrived at Grandma Mary's with time to go eat dinner. After that I put the kids to bed and we talked a lot about Brandon and I as kids. I looked through some photo albums and was amazed at how much Grayson resembles him!

The next morning we left bright and early for Idaho! Found a park that dad recommended as a stopping place for a snack, the kids loved it. The grandmas walked around the school and talked while the kids went crazy. This was the first place I noticed how well kenna and zachey were playing together. They had a whole game around being under the sea and living in that fishes mouth...was really fun to see them all getting along!

About halfway there we stumbled upon a cute rest stop. I was burned out after dealing with a ton of stop and go traffic in the mountains. It appeared that they were blowing a new tunnel through a mountain - so there was a lot of backup. Finding this little gem of a stop was wonderful! There was a parked train for the kids to look at, and they had fun walking along the tracks.

Inside the covered picnic areas were hundreds of swallows and their nests. With the nests was equally as much bird poo - but it was still cool. Zachey noticed a baby bird that had fallen from the nest and died on the ground. This reallllly bothered him for a while. He asked "mommy, what happened to the poor baby bird?" When we explained that it fell before it could fly he thought about it for a long time. Poor little sensitive dude :(

After we made it to Idaho we dropped off my grandma and went to Megan's. They have a beautiful home just a few miles from my dad's in Idaho Falls - actually only a few miles from where I grew up! It had a play room, beds for the kids to sleep in (with their good buddies) and just room to play and be kids - so nice!

As promised I let them swim in Grandpa Bob's pool that night because they had been so good. Zachey was fried and said it was freezing. He had a mini-meltdown so we got him out and dressed - but other than that great ending to crazy roadtrip!!
