Living History Farms Christmas

This year we ventured out on probably the coldest day of the year. It was definitely below zero wind chill. I made a point to pack plenty of gloves/hats/coats etc. I thought it was definitely worth the couple bucks each with our membership!

The kids got to tour the old mansion circa 1900s. It was all decked out for christmas. There were many people dressed in traditional dress and even someone playing carols on the old piano. Was weird walking through a house with no bathrooms!

They got to decorate a cookie and kenna tried stringing popcorn and cranberries to decorate a tree.

We were going to ride the horse drawn carriage but toughed it out instead, stopping along the way to feel the fire. We walked quickly (well except for grayson who doddled and enjoyed the night :)

After the mansion we went to the old church were we had hot cider, popcorn and watched lots of people line dance. The kids enjoyed it :)

After that we went back to the main building and got to watch how they made chocolate from cocoa beans, the kids made reindeer puppets and "met" santa. Zachey wouldn't get too close, and Grayson wanted NOTHING to do with him :)

Was definitely a cold night, but we did learn that living history farms is way bigger than we thought! Can't wait to explore the whole thing this summer!!
